The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

He is gone to a good home......
Well, we finally did it. We placed an ad in the paper for a good home for our Shihtzu Tux, Slammer and Buddy (Our cats). We had probably 50 calls for Tux and a couple of calls for the cats. We gave Slammer to an older woman who lives out in the country, that was hard to do! Then we went out to Lincoln to see a woman who wanted Tux. Although it was very difficult to do, we let him stay with her. She seems like a very loving lady. She said that she can't have children of her own and looks at her animals as her children. I held it together (well almost) until we got in the car to leave. Then I totally lost it! I have to keep telling myself that it's the best thing and that he will have so much more attention than we could ever give him. We didn't have time to spend with the animals and the guilt was overwhelming. With 2 little children, it was just impossible for us. Aliyah asked where Tux was last night and Kenny told her that he was with a man, she was ok with that (for now). I'm sure that we will be getting more questions about him. You see, she loved him so much. She played with him the most and spent many hours laughing while she ran around with him. Guess I have to talk about this later, because I'm starting to get choked up again. I love you Tux (sigh).
