The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

And so it begins!
My 2 little daughters are absolutely amazing! I love them dearly and don't know what I ever did without them. My 2 1/2 year old tends to say things to amaze me everyday. She is in the "Why Mommy?" stage. Her curiosity gets the best of her. When Brooke was first born, Aliyah was very happy to have her new little sister. When Brooke came home, for the first little while, Aliyah was intrigued by her. It wasn't until Brooke was about a month and a half old that Aliyah would come up with her famous words with a stern look on her face "No BROOKE, DON'T LOOK AT ME!!". When Brooke turned 4 months old, Aliyah must have came to the conclusion that Brooke wasn't going anywhere so she had to learn to love her :) She now plays with her and takes good care of her. She shares her toys (well most of them), helps feed her and the cutest is giving her kisses! Brooke has this smile that she gives Aliyah everytime she sees her come near. I'm sure that will change in the future at one point or another but for now, it's the cutest thing ever! Brooke is 5 months old now and is starting to creep. She can already sit up and is playing with her toys with her little precious fingers. We started her on her cereal and will soon begin the strained foods. I'm looking forward to her "firsts" when it comes to food and capture all of her sour looks on her face. Brooke is a fantastic little baby. She sleeps from 8 p.m. usually until 7 or 8 a.m. each night. Trust me, I'm not complaining!! Aliyah on the other hand, usually stays up until around 10 p.m. and gets up at 8 a.m. She sleeps in her own bed but wants her Mommy or Daddy to sleep with her EVERY night. If we're not there, she will do 1 of 2 things. Scream at 3 a.m. wanting one of us to go in and lay down with her or 2, quietly saunter into our room and crawl in bed with us. (Shhh, Don't tell Kenny but I don't mind!!) I just love snuggling with my girls. I know that they are safe and not to mention, they are like my little heating pads :) I could go on forever but for now, I'm exhausted and need sleep! Until next time!
