Aliyah woke up this morning and I turned on the TV for her and Brooke. Brooke was in her excersaucer when I hear the TV being turned off and Aliyah saying "I gotta go pee Brooke, Ok? I'll be right back ok?" then she does her thing....goes back in the living room, turns back on the TV and says to Brooke "There, is that better Brookies?" in that sweet little voice of hers. She definately loves her little sister.
Brooke has been waking up almost every other hour wanting her bottle. We DO feed the little thing, but she's just always hungry. She's been doing this for over a week now.... I got up at midnight last night, came downstairs and fed her cereal thinking that it would make her sleep better but noooo she was awake at 3 a.m. and then again at 7 a.m. I dunno what to do.
Last night, when Aliyah was going to sleep, I was rolled away from her and then I feel this little body draping over me and said "Mommy can I cuddle with you over there?" I said "Where?" She said "in your belly" Once she got there, she said "Ok Mommy, please, you move over just a little bit ok?" So I moved over.... she said "no mommy, touching the wall" So I moved over as far as I could. She said "Uh oh mommy, don't let the bears get you"
Cleaning will be done today!!
4 more days to go!!!
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

3. Why does Santa come down the chimney?
4. Why do I have to wait till Christmas to open up my presents?
5. We can all open up our presents today, wanna do dat?
6. Did we buy presents for all my friends? (who aliyah?) Daniel, Julia and Gabby??
7. Why are all my friends busy??

Sick
Poor little Brooke was sick the other day and still is really. She's getting a bit better now. I think she's teething really bad and she also has a cold (Along with Aliyah). She wasn't eating, sleeping or peeing in her diaper. She woke up at 7:30 a.m. that morning and didn't sleep until around 12:30 a.m. that night. Her little eyes were hanging off of her cheeks. Kenny took her up to the outpatients around 9 p.m. and they didn't see her. He waited until 1:30 a.m. and still didn't get in. You would think that a little baby 8 months old would be seen, even for a few minutes just to see if everything is alright but nooooooo.
Aliyah is really starting to get excited about Christmas now. She sees presents under the tree and wants to open hers (from someone else, not us, we didn't put anything under the tree yet because we're waiting till Christmas Eve.
We bought her a Winnie the Pooh gingerbread house. We'll wrap it and that will be her present that she can open Christmas eve and we'll put it together. She loves doing stuff like that. Brooke has been pawing at the presents too.... so she should be fun :)
Kenny and I are both exhausted. We haven't been sleeping that much these past few days. Kenny has been letting me get a bit more sleep than him so he should be extra tired.
Aliyah wants to go and watch Rudolf so I'll have to go see if it's recorded.

In A Funk....
I'm in a Funk !! Which I can't get out of. I find it very difficult throughout the days when Kenny isn't home. The kids are keeping me very busy. Brooke is ALWAYS trying to stand up on things and sometimes falling hard on the floor so I have to be on top of her at all times. I'm expecting that she will be walking earlier than Aliyah did (1 year). I could have swore that she's said, Mama, Dada and Kitty all in the past week. She's now getting her first bottom tooth in. It's been poking through for the past week but won't come up! Aliyah was the same way. You could see it and feel it but it wouldn't come up through for awhile.
My house is an absolute disaster. I'm so disgusted with it that I am at the point of giving up! Just let it go until .... well I don't know when. For the life of me, I cannot keep it clean! It's very frustrating for me.
Aliyah had a good ol'nap around 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. this evening and so she should be good until about 11 or so. Nice.
She's hanging off of me now, so I better go.

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas......
The decorations are up.... some gifts are wrapped.... Aliyah is getting excited... (and Brooke too :). The time is almost here!! Another couple of weeks and the Big Guy (Ho Ho) will be coming down our chimney! (We will still light a fire that night ;)
Kenny's work is having their children's Christmas party tomorrow so we'll be taking the kids there. Aliyah doesn't want to see Santa but she's going to anyway! It's pretty good, the company buys each child who attends a pretty nice gift and they serve pizza etc there. It was a good time last year. I'm going to have to try and find a couple of red dresses for the girls so they look all cute and stuff.
Aliyah was all excited to watch the Grinch that Stole Christmas tonight (the one with Jim Carrey). Well.... let me just say that she was only a few minutes into it when she was scared half to death and little tears forming in her eyes. I asked her if she wanted me to change the channel and said nodded her head yes. I saw her afterwards wiping her little tears away. Poor little thing. Guess she's too young for that one! We'll try again next year ;)
The wood stove is going and the heat feels nice... it's actually putting me to sleep. Gonna go have a smoke and then probably go upstairs to bed.

To start my day....
To start my day of cleaning, what did I do? I was getting something off of the table in the entry way and the phone went flying.....yah...right into a big bucket of day old mop water!! GRRRR!!!!! Guess that's garbage now.... it was only about 4 months old. Luckily we have 2 others.
Let's see what else happens today!
Let's see what else happens today!
This and That.....
I went to my Christmas party at the Delta. It was a good time! Although Kenny didn't come with me because we didn't have a babysitter.. I wish he was there. The food was good and I even won a nice prize! A Philips Stereo that plays MP3's too! That was a nice little surprise :) I stayed for 2 dances then came home. The roads were terrible due to freezing rain so it ended up taking me 20 minutes to drive home.
I was thinking today, that Aliyah (even though sometimes she stirs the pot) for the most part, she is a big help with Brooke. She tries to calm her down when she cries and helps me feed her, etc. She is such a great sister :) She loves her little sister, that's for sure!
Well, a few more people to buy for, for Christmas. I hate not knowing what to get people!! That's when the good ol'gift certificates come in handy I guess!! I love getting gift certificates :) I don't know about anyone else!
Looked after Grammy Grace all weekend. Aliyah was ready to come home by day 2. She missed Snoopy and her house :) She was happy to be home last night and sleeping here. It was rough, especially with Brooke crawling around and getting into everything. But we did it!
Gotta go clean up this pig pen! At least it may be clean for a couple of hours!!

A little bit of everything
Well, our Christmas Tree is up!! Not decorated however. We put it up yesterday and because our dehumidifier overflowed a couple of months ago, it went under our Tree in the basement and now the Tree has a musty smell :( Got out the ol'ferbreeze and sprayed that sucker down! Doesn't help that much though.
We've been attempting to put our decorations out and around the house but haven't been that successful in the past couple of days. Everything seems to be that way.
I don't know what Kenny will be getting for Christmas. I'm at a total loss. He's so hard to buy for!
I went to burn my pictures on CD and found that my burner isn't working now. I guess it hasn't since I formatted my pc. GRRR, if it's not one thing it's another.
Brooke is drooling and spitting on Kenny, so I better go help I suppose :) He's such a good daddy and husband.. he's been getting up with Brooke in the mornings and letting me sleep in....what more can a woman ask for!!

Poor Snoopy
If I were Snoopy, I would be literally in a straight jacket going insane!! Aliyah will NOT leave him alone for 5 minutes. She's always dragging him around or putting blankets over him to watch him walk around the house, talking to him right in his face or screaming at him. I literally go nuts just watching it! (Of course I try to stop her but there's no way that she is doing that!)
Christmas is just around the corner and we don't have any money!! It's kinda depressing....we got Aliyah and Brooke a few things and I think I would consider them just about done.
I'm thinkin about having a little breakdown anytime. I've been very stressed out with the kids, money, house, etc lately. I'm about to blow up anytime!!
Anyway, guess Brooke will be up soon. Aliyah is chasing Snoopy around the family room. So I guess I should get back to my day.

The Things Little One's Say.....
I had to write this down before I forgot about it. I was talking to Aliyah today and she all of a sudden tooted (in other words farted) I said "What was that!!" She said "Oh, I just tooted, sorry bout that!" I had to laugh!!
I was just sitting in the lazy boy with her and I was asking her to count how many eyes, ears, etc that I had. So she was doing good up until she got to my nose. She counted my nostrils and said I had 2 noses. Well that was cute....then we got down to my chin. I said "How many chins does Mommy have?" She started to count " 1....2....3..... 3 Chins mommy!" LOL!!!!!!!!!!! That's pretty bad! BUT OH SO FUNNY... I started laughing and so did she.

Violated
Woke up this morning and Kenny happened to look out our bedroom window and noticed a bunch of papers on the ground outside. I went over to check it out and found that someone had broke into our SUV last night. 99% of the time, we lock the doors, but just so happened that we didn't last night. I don't think they took anything of importance but the point of someone going through your vehicle, I feel very violated!!
I just contacted the police to report it. They said that someone else called in this morning from the next street over. Nice eh!
Well, that's twice in 4 years that someone has done this. Close to Christmas time and someone wants some gifts for their honey or something. That's why I don't like going outside for a smoke when I get up at 5 a.m. cause you just never know whose lurking around!

Tired
Brooke has been up since quarter to five this morning and I'm just about ready to go have a little snooze before Kenny has to go to work.
I can't believe that Joey got kicked off of Dancing with the Stars!! GRR... Although I really like all of them, I thought that Emmit would have been the one to leave the show last night. I really like Joey!! I think Mario will end up taking the title! We'll have to see!
OOOO I just remembered, today is Thursday so my show is on tonight!! Grey's Anatomy!! YAY! I get so excited on Thursdays :) I remember Kenny watching the show a long time ago and asking, "What's this show anyway???" because I usually don't like the shows that he watches. I ended up watching it with him and have been hooked ever since!
The countdown is on, another 4 minutes I'm going to go wake up Kenny and lay down!

Christmas is coming believe it or not!
Aliyah and I had a great talk about Christmas last night. It's our first real conversation that we've had about Santa, where he comes from, the elves making toys, etc. She was very curious. We also talked about Jesus and that he loves everyone. I ask her now "Who loves you?" and she says "Jesus loves me" I think it's so cute! She's soooo excited already about Christmas. I can't wait!
The other day when it snowed, Aliyah looked out her window and seen the snow falling on the ground. She usually gets up and wants something to eat right away. Well not that day! She got dressed for outside and started playing in the snow at 7:30 a.m. It was kinda cold, so she didn't stay too long but she was just facinated with it!
Brooke ate her first Arrow Root cookie today. She absolutely loved it. She didn't make too much of a mess either. It was pretty much mush by the time she was done with it but you should have seen her take at it! It was like she hadn't eaten for weeks!
Aliyah has been taking her Flintstone vitamins. She asks for one everyday. Everytime she eats one, she wants me to look at her feet because she says that they are growing. She says that she wants to be a big girl. I don't want her growing up too fast ;)
Stairs are almost ready for finishing! Kenny has been working on them for the past couple of days and they are just about ready to be screwed down. There is one coat on them and once a second coat goes on, they'll be ready! YAY! It looks awesome too. He's done a really good job.

Stressed!
Don't ask me why, but lately I've been feeling very stressed out. I'm guessing it's a combination of things, trying to get the house fixed up, kids, being home for 4 days at a time and not leaving the house, living in a messy house and not getting enough sleep. Those are just a few!
I went scrapbooking today at my friend Elizabeth's house. We all get together once a month and scrapbook. It's a stress reliever for sure! I really look forward to it everytime!
I've been picking up a few Christmas presents here and there so that it won't be that bad come Christmas time. We don't have alot of money this year, it's certainly tight. We won't be going over board!! I'm going to try to be creative this year.... I'll have to wait and see.
Snow fell today!! I can't wait to go out in it with Aliyah when we get a big snow fall and help her make snowmen. I may end up having to get a snow suit myself ;)
I'm feeling a bit sick to my stomach so I'm going to go and relax for a bit before Desperate Housewives comes on. Love that show!

Trick or Treating is over for another year!
It was a fun night last night. I think Aliyah enjoyed herself. At first, she didn't want to get dressed up for Halloween, I think seeing her friend get upset caused her to do the same ;) But as soon as it started getting a bit dark out, she was raring to go! She got her Tigger outfit on with her black stripes on her face and an orange nose and headed out the door with her Mommy and Daddy. Thankfully Kenny's mom came over to watch Brooke while we took her out. (It was too cold for little Brooke to go out this year - definately next year!) We walked around the entire block to pretty much every house. Aliyah ended up with 2 big mixing bowls full of candy. Needless to say, it's going to be a rough week or two with keeping her hands out of it every minute of the day. Every door she went to she said "Trick or treat" and then "Thank you". After about an hour, she was ready to come back home, that was alot of walking for those little legs!
Gabby is coming over to play today with Aliyah. I haven't told her this yet because as soon as I did, that's all I would be hearing is "When is Gabby coming???" So I'll wait until the time is near to mention it to her.
It's time to get started on the cleaning for the day. Fun fun fun!!

Halloween..... It's almost time!!
Halloween tomorrow!! Aliyah is very excited to go trick or treating. She has decided that she wants to be Tigger this year (Go figure!) We bought her a Tigger costume off of E-Bay for $10.00 brand new. She's worn it around the house and has had halloween make up on at least 5 times since I got it. For some reason she thinks that Santa is coming tomorrow too....but we keep telling her that it's not for a couple more months. I don't know how this Halloween thing is going to work yet... weather or not Kenny and I will take Brooke along with us or one of us will have to stay home with Brooke and the other take Aliyah out.
She has been circling everything in the Sears Wish book that she wants "Santa to buy her". Everything she sees, she wants. I can't wait for Christmas!!
Brooke is now feeding herself...well the bottle that is. She holds onto it! She still wakes up around 5 a.m. every morning for a feeding and then sleeps until about 7 or 8 a.m. She still has a cold but we've been giving her cold medicine for infants...that seems to be helping quite a bit (thanks Jolene).
I can't get my camera to work on my computer.... I don't know what is wrong with it but I wish (SOMEONE) would come fix it for me!! (Hint hint - you know who you are!)
How does one consume 5 bags of garbage in 1 WEEK!?!?! That's ridiculous.... We even recycyle carboard so that's not even included. Ah well.
Well baby Brooke is crying now, that's my cue!

Heart is pumping
Well today I got a portable heart monitor put on me. ITCHY!! GRR!! It's driving me insane! My doctor wanted me to have it to see if I had a spell in a 24 hour period. So far, nothing. Go figure eh!
I didn't get much accomplished today. Some laundry and the girls bathed, fed and watered :) I would love to scrapbook tonight but the chances of that are slim to none. Aliyah should be going to bed early tonight, but we'll see! She surprises me some nights, especially when she doesn't have a nap during the day.
Brooke and Aliyah are sick AGAIN!! What's up with that!?!?!?!?! Poor little Brooke's eyes are all red and irritated. She was so stuffed up last night that she couldn't sleep.
Another day tomorrow!! Going to do laundry, crackfill and look after kiddies......night.

There may be an end in sight................
Yesterday, Kenny and I got some more work done on the house. Kenny painted the top eve on the house while I painted the side eve at the top of the house. We also caulked all the upstairs windows and painted them as well. The shower which is now a closet in our room is gyprocked and ready for crackfilling (I did that all myself and did a pretty good job I must say). We'll probably do that today and wallpaper the bathroom so that it's finished finally! We still have to paint the entryway ceiling, fix the ceiling in the garage, finish the stairs, paint the trim board upstairs to all the bedrooms and that should do it!! I'll be sooooooooo glad when it's all done. It's pretty hard to do all of this stuff with 2 little ones running around/crawling around at your feet. Kinda frustrating....
Aliyah and I went up to the mall last night while Kenny stayed home and bonded with Brooke :) We had a good time! We got some pictures developed and picked up a parcel at Sears. She was such a good girl.
Anyway, Kenny is on the move and wants to start on the bathroom upstairs. I'm exhausted and don't feel like doing much but I guess I'll have to get off my butt!

This and That
How did I get so lucky to have the most 2 beautiful girls in the whole world!?!?! I was watching Aliyah sleep tonight, she's such a good little cuddler. She wants me to have my arm around her while she goes to sleep. I love it! We went out to supper tonight for Kenny's sister's birthday and took the little ones with us. I couldn't have asked for better behaved children!! They were soooooooooo good!
Brooke has now discovered that she likes sweet potatoes. Pears, well, she was learning to like them although the first few tastes made quite the face!! I've actually witnessed her being shy with everyone besides Kenny and me. She screams at the top of her lungs if anyone else goes near her or picks her up. I guess it goes to show at least one thing, she loves her Mommy and Daddy :)
Woah! I'm exhausted! I should have been in bed hours ago but NOOOO...had to stay up and watch Desperate Housewives and now looking on Ebay, big mistake!!

Woah! I'm exhausted! I should have been in bed hours ago but NOOOO...had to stay up and watch Desperate Housewives and now looking on Ebay, big mistake!!
GOING TO BED!! NIGHT!

It's Been Awhile
I haven't been able to post anything lately because I have a nasty virus on my computer. It gives me about 1 pop up every 30 seconds and won't allow me to stay connected. It's been a royal pain!! Rogers cable is supposed to come by on Friday to switch from Aliant and put on a free Norton Antivirus on the computer...hopefully that will do the trick!
Aliyah and Brooke have been keeping me busy! Brooke is now scooting all over the place now. I really have to keep my eye on her because one minute she's in by Aliyah's bed and the next she's in the hallway by the bathroom! So far she has eaten peas, carrots, squash and bananas. Her favorite to date is peas by far. The others have given her the most sour face I have ever seen!! Kenny said that when he fed her squash that she actually spit it out across the room and hit Aliyah with it.
Aliyah has been eating Flinstone vitamins and told me today as soon as she ate it "Look Mommy! I'm getting bigger!!" She keeps telling me that she wants to be a big girl. I asked her today if she was going to tell me that she loves me even when she gets to be a teenager and I'm an old lady.... she said she would so I'm going to hold her to it!
Aliyah is getting very excited about Halloween and being able to go out Trick or Treatin! She's got her Tigger costume and we also bought her a little girly costume with a kitty on it along with a witches hat...she looks soooooooooo cute in it! We also carved our first pumpkins! Her arms were in it up to her elbows trying to pull the seeds out of them. I got lots of pictures and will scrapbook them! Can't wait!
This month hasn't been a good month for news! My best friends nanna passed away, who she was really close to.... I feel really bad!! She was telling me a story about her and I got all teary eyed....her nanna was the type of woman every child would want for a grandmother. She had an unbelieveable soul and personality....
The same day I heard that, I also got a phone call saying that almost everyone of my coworkers have lost their jobs. There are only 4 of us that kept our positions and the remainder have been told that they will be done by March. What a shock that was. I really wasn't expecting anyting like this to happen. The really sad thing about it all is that these people are really good people. I have made some really great friendships and it's VERY sad to see them have to go through this. Guilt is the only word I have to describe how I feel about having one of the few positions left. I truly feel horrible and saddened deeply from it all.
Also, on that very same day, I chipped my bottom tooth in half from biting into bacon (it was crispy to say the least). Yup, from grinding my teeth so bad during the night. Now I always slip my tongue in it and makes it even worse.
This week I found out that one of my friends is in the hospital and has been for quite some time. I called her just to let her know that I was thinking of her and to offer her any type of help that I could possibly do. She's a good person and a wonderful friend.
Needless to say, these past few weeks haven't been the greatest!! Hopefully next month will be different.

Pet Peeve
I just remembered one of my pet peeves today. Whenever I sweep the house, it NEVER fails, I ALWAYS find a penny laying on the floor.... usually more. I absolutely hate picking them up out of the pile of dirt or even off of the floor.I have been known to sweep them up in the dust pan. It could never be a loonie or toonie....nooooo it's always that darn penny!!!!! GRRRR......
One quirky thing that I do is always look in the flush before I sit down... why you may ask? Well, it's been known to have spiders in them (one at a time usually) or some other crawly creature but still! Who wants a spider crawling up her wazoo!! (*I get shivers thinkin about it!*)
Kenny cut open his hand today on a metal broom handle. He had to go up to the hospital to have stitches (4 or 5 of them) along with a tetnis shot in the arm. I wasn't with him when it happened so I didn't know how bad it was. He showed it to me tonight and it does look really bad for it being done with a broom handle. I feel bad for him.... he got me to button up his shirt today for him and I told him he better not milk this for all it's worth! :) hehe.
My kids are in BED!! IMAGINE THAT AND IT'S 9:30 P.M.!!!! They actually went to sleep around 9. Only because Aliyah didn't have a nap and Brooke hasn't slept since around 4 p.m. Sooooo it's quiet in the house and I have to say that I'm kinda enjoying it !
Anyway, I've missed half of my show now and so I better go watch the rest of it!

Another Day in the life of Donna
We got some more work done on the house. Replaced a part of the eve in the front of the house and took down the huge shrub that was in the front as well. What a mess out there, it looks like a hurricane hit it! We got to get some painting done outside today and get the garbage hauled away.
I raked a bunch of leaves up in the backyard yesterday and Aliyah LOVED playing in them! She helped me rake of course and then wasn't long tearing the pile of them all apart! She also helped paint with us yesterday.
Brooke had her first taste of babyfood yesterday! Carrots.... she didn't make too many faces until about the 5th or 6th spoonful and THEN the faces were appearing all over the place! She seemed to not mind it overall though! I will finish that bottle with her and then probably give her peas next!
Our computer is all messed up YET again! We are getting TONS of pop ups, so much so that it is happening every minute or so... I believe we may have a virus....lovely!
It's off to another day! Let's see what is in store for us...............

Conversations with Aliyah
Last night was very cute. We were laying in bed, yes all 3 of us (Brooke, Aliyah and myself). Aliyah asked if there were bears in the room (she has a thing with bears and boogies - like the boogie man). I told her that there were no bears in the room which got her thinking about her trip to the zoo. She said "You remember when we seen the BIG Lion??? And Barb and Alanna got scared but they were ok and I was scared too!" I said "Yes, I remember!" Then I asked her if we could take her and Brooke to the zoo again next year. Her response was "No, we can't take Brooke cause maybe she would be scared of the lion. - Maybe we can hide her in the stroller under blankies!" She wouldn't let Brooke go to sleep because she said "Cause I wanna talk to her" - well let's just say that Brooke didn't go to sleep anytime soon. Aliyah was trying to be a big sister and put her to sleep again last night.
Aliyah was talking about Tux today. Said that she seen him by the stairs and then followed by "Maybe Tux will come back home to me" in those sad little puppy dog eyes. WELL! I had tears in my eyes after that! I had to change the subject. She still goes outside and hollers for Slammer.
It's back off to cleaning I go... Aliyah's being a big help *Grin*

Let me start by saying that I am VERY sleepy! Brooke had me up all night the night before last and I still haven't caught up on all of my sleep. I think that she needs to start eating food cause she's waking up every couple of hours wanting to feed. We had her to the doctor yesterday with regards to her breathing. It's raspy and sounds like she's very conjested. She's been doing that ever since she's been born. The doctor assures us that it is nothing to be concerned about. He said that she's a healthy growing baby. She weighs a little over 19lbs now at 6 months of age.
I stayed out in Harvey at the hospital all day yesterday. Dr. Olmstead wanted me to see if I had a dizzy spell while I was out there and that way they could get my vitals at the time that it occurred. Well, I didn't end up having a dizzy spell.
Gabby came into visit Aliyah yesterday while Jolene and Tori went to the dentist. Kenny looked after the kids. Let's just say that after it was all said and done, he really needed a break :) hehehe. He was completely worn out!
Aliyah and Brooke are starting to get another cold again. It wasn't that long ago that they had one and now here it is yet again. Aliyah was laying in bed the other night after we gave her medicine and said with her little stuffy nose "My nose is still runnin, I need more medicine" it was cute even though she was sick. Poor little thing.
It's almost 3:30 and my little stinker hasn't gone for her nap yet. I'm sure that because Brooke is sleeping at the moment, Aliyah will wait until she wakes up before she goes for her sleep. That's the way that it usually goes!
Anyway, should get some housework done while I can... it's an uphill battle to say the least!

Our little talk......
My little girl, Aliyah and I are sitting here eating popcorn. She's sitting on the desk with her bowl filled with popcorn watching me type this. She also has the hiccups which doesn't seem to be slowing her down from eating. She just told me that she cooked me some popcorn...no wait it's daddy that made it she says. She just gave me a piece of hers and put it in my bowl "here mom" she says. What a nice girl.
"Are you sleepy Aliyah?"
"No Yet" she replied
Toots - from Aliyah - yes that means flutters better known as farts
"Do you want me to lay down with you"
She thinks............................................................................"Stop asking me" aliyah said
"did you have fun today?" Mommy asks
"Mmm hmm"
"What was your favorite thing you did today?"
"I dunno, my favorite bubbles" (I dunno where she got that - she doesn't have bubbles)
"did you miss Mommy today?"
"Yah"
"anything else you want to tell me?"
"uh huh, you wanna see my game"
"What game"
"My game" Aliyah says
She repeats this 4 times................
"What game Aliyah???"
"My game, it's in the dark"
(Whatever that means!!)
We both laugh...............
My goodness I love this little girl to pieces. The things that she's saying these days just melt my heart!

Mixed Emotions!!
So, it's Friday. Does that make any difference to me?? Nope!! It used to at once upon a time!! :)
Let's see, what's new??? Well, the cutest thing ever happened the other night. Aliyah wanted to lay down with Brooke and put her to sleep. She told me to "Shhhhh, go mom, I put Brooke to sleep" and so I asked her to hold her hand gently. She did. She curled up beside Brooke and held her little hand as she laid there silently. I was going out of the room and took a couple of minutes to take it all in.... well that wasn't a good idea cause I got little tears in my eyes of pure joy. What a feeling! It was soooo cute!!! Then it turned into horror!!! I went downstairs to stir supper. I didn't hear anything going on upstairs so I thought everything was good! Aliyah comes sauntering downstairs and said "Mommy, I hide Brooke!!" I said "What??" Her response was "With pillows!!" with a big smile on her face. I ran upstairs as fast as I possibly could and heard a muffled cry under 4 huge king size pillows on top. I freaked out! I explained to Aliyah that she couldn't breathe and not to ever do that again. She started crying and said "I just wanted to hide Brooke Mom"

House Repair!
Finally!! We got a few things accomplished around the house. I painted the entryway outside and the front eve... it looks so much better!! Kenny got the fence door fixed and so now it finally works! He also got most of the shower just about ripped out for it to be gyprocked again. We're going to make it into a closet.
Aliyah helped Kenny with dishes yesterday. I asked her if she was going to like doing dishes when she gets bigger. She looked up at Kenny and said "Daddy, when I get bigger, I'm going to like doing dishes" I just wanted to document this to show her when she gets in her teenage years so that she won't go back on her word. ;)
Julia came over for a visit today and played with Aliyah. Aliyah just loves her company!! I sometimes think that she gets bored and wants to do something or play with someone. Speak of the little one, I hear that she's up right now.... time to go !!

The Things Children Do!
Ok, so maybe I shouldn't be writing this but I'm going to go against my better judgement and do it! Did I say that Aliyah is potty trained now? Fully! She goes to the washroom by herself and everything (as long as the light is on). Well, I didn't know that she had a good ol'poop. She was downstairs watching Tv on her blanket and I noticed her picking her bum. WELL! I asked her what she was doing.... all of a sudden she points her finger up in the air with a little ball of poop on it. She starts coming towards me with this little evil grin on her face saying "Borrow hole, borrow hole, don't know where" (It's a little tickling game that we play) As hard as it was, I did keep a straight face!! I told her to go upstairs and wash her hands in a stern voice. Well she laughed all the way up the stairs and as soon as she got in the washroom, I joined her in the laughing.
On the cute side of things, she wanted me to lay down with her when she went to sleep (that's nothing new). I turned over to the wall and she doesn't like that. She said to me "But Mommy, I want to cuddle with you". It was about 5 minutes later that I felt this body sprawling over me to get on the front side of me so that I could cuddle her. Those types of things are the best feeling in the world.

All dressed up and no where to go!
Aliyah had a good day today. She was a very good girl. She let her sister, Brooke
play with all of her toys and layed down beside her on the floor. I cannot for the life of me keep this girl inside!! Everytime I go out the door, there is Aliyah right behind me... doesn't matter if she's as naked as a jay bird...she's there!
Aliyah has been going through the Sears Wish Book and circling everything she wants Santa to bring her this year. So far, she says that she wants Santa to bring her: Bubbles, Christmas Trees and Tigger's. I'm sure that Santa will end up finding these for her! :) I have to keep telling her that Santa comes when the snow gets here. Her response is "Well let's go find the snow and then we'll find Santa!!" I think it's cute :)
Brooke has not slept hardly at all today. She only power naps for about 10 - 15 minutes. Thankfully she sleeps through most of the night.
I'm tired, gotta go watch Deal or No Deal!

STUCK!
It's a first!! Aliyah got stuck!! Where you may ask? Well, she was sitting on her chair in front of the TV eating some bacon and I hear "Mommy, my feet are stuck!" I look over and see that she had both of her legs in the runner of a chair. Doesn't sound bad does it? Well, when I went to take them out, her feet would NOT come out of the chair whatsoever. She cried and wouldn't let me touch her. So what did I have to do? SAW THE RUNNER OFF WITH A HAND SAW! Grrr. You should have seen me trying to set her on my knee and saw this thing off... it was quite a site. Her feet were more important than the chair. I asked her if she was ever going to put her feet in anything like that again and her response with puppy dog eyes was "No Mommy".

10 Things About Brooke
I thought I would write 10 things about my 2 little girls. Starting with the youngest, Brooke. In her 5 1/2 months this is what she has shown me so far:
1. I like having my hands held when I go to sleep or my back rubbed.
2. I like sleeping on my side or my belly....hardly ever my back!
3. I smile constantly when my big sister Aliyah walks by me.
4. My hands are forever in my mouth, chopping away!
5. I can sit up and have been able to since I just turned 5 months old.
6. I don't have a birthmark (unless the strands of blonde hair on the top of my head is counted as one!)
7. I love animals and watching them walk around.
8. I like sitting in my excersaucer and taking everything all in.
9. I'm just starting to like to watch TV
10. I'm at the stage when I'm exploring more and more. Scooting around a bit and trying to grasp things out of my reach!

Bouncy Bouncy Baby!
It was Brooke's first bounce in her jolly jumper!! She absolutely loves it! When Kenny took her out of it, she cried so hard that it was heartbreaking. He ended up putting her back in and letting her jump for awhile longer. She supports herself very well and turns around in circles. Kenny takes her around the house on the jumper and she loves that too! Brooke's hand is constantly in her mouth with her shirt absolutely soaken wet! I can't believe that those 2 little toothem's on the bottom haven't come in yet. Aliyah was this age when her's came in. I can't believe that Brooke is almost 6 months old now. Which means, I'll be going back to work soon too! YUCK! I'm not looking forward to leaving my girls home.... (sigh).
Well, goin to Home Depot to pick up some stuff to fix the house with!

First Hair Cut!!!
We finally did it!!! We cut Aliyah's hair today for the very first time in her life! I cut while Kenny held her (not that she needed it) My little girl now has bangs!! It was cute because she kept taking the little strands that were falling down and putting them back on her head. She had a huge smile on her face when she first looked in the mirror. Did we keep a locket from her hair? OF COURSE WE DID! Are you crazy? I have kept all of her firsts. She looks so cute! I took a bunch of pictures :)
Brooke was a good little baby today :) She loves watching Buddy (The cat) walk around along with Snoopy. She gets bouncing up and down in her excersaucer whenever they come around. She had lots of smiles for me today. I love playing with her when she firsts wakes up. She is crying out loud until she sees me walk in the room and then she gives me an instant smile and then her legs and arms get flapping around because she's so excited.
Kenny made roast today, it was yummy. I've done about 5 loads of laundry today just trying to get caught up! Snoopy got shaved today for the last time before winter. He looks cute. He's doing so well around the house! He hasn't made a mess... it's amazing. He gets full rein of the house now and when he is let outside, he doesn't run away anymore! He just hangs around the house and in the driveway. I still think that he's a little lonely though. I wonder how Tux is doing (Sigh).
Well, it's passed 10 p.m. and my little stinker is sitting on my knee. Tried putting her to bed already and she wondered downstairs. It doesn't help that she had a late nap and Kenny actually had to wake her up at 6 p.m. this evening. She went to bed good for me last night at 9 p.m. I fell asleep too at that time which is very unlike me!
Anyway, here we go to try attempt to put her back to bed. Brooke is fast asleep and has been since 8 p.m. She's such a good little girl :)
TA TA FOR NOW!
It was a good time!
Our visit with Anthony, Barb and Alanna was good!! We really enjoyed ourselves. Aliyah became an instant celebrity on the mike with Alanna! They sang, Hakunamatatta. Anthony video taped it and it turned out sooo cute!! It's something that we can show them when they get older and they will certainly get a kick out of it. Alanna is so good with Aliyah. Although Alanna is almost 8 years old and Aliyah is 2 1/2 she plays with her and tries to teach her new things. We played an entire game of "Go Fish" for the first time.
We went to the Country Music Awards, leaving the children for Anthony to babysit. The concert was good but I wouldn't go again unless I was able to get a seat close on the floor. We couldn't really see anything where we were sitting in the back of the stadium. When Terry Clark won her "Fan" award, I hollered out "WE LOVE YOU TERRY!!". I haven't watched it yet to see if you can hear me in the crowd, probably not! All in all, it was a good time.
Anthony was a good host and I enjoyed spending the time with him and the family.

Country Music, Here we come!
We're heading down to Saint John today to spend a couple of days with my brother, Anthony and his family. On Monday night, we're going to be going to the Canadian Country Music Awards at Harbor Station. Although we're going to be at the very back of the building, I'm sure that we will still enjoy it!! It's my first ever televised event!! :) Be on the watch for us!!
Thank goodness we're going down to Anthony's because my daughter has been asking for her uncle for about a week now. She gets upset when she can't go and see him. She says that she's going to say "Nana nana boo boo" to him. She wants to be tickled I guess ;)
My friend Calli is going to come over and walk Snoopy for us....what a great friend she is!! No really!! She is one of the best friends anyone could ever want! (Not only for the dog walking but for many other things in life!)
Well, we gotta go get ready now.... lots of stuff to gather up, especially with 2 kids!

Tiggers are a wonderful thing!

Well my daughter, Aliyah has now found herself a best friend. Yes, that's right. It's TIGGER!
We went to a few yard sales a couple of weeks ago and she was on the search for Tigger. When I mean search, I mean she would get out at each yard sale and look around for him. When she got back in the car she would say "Mommy, I can't find no Tiggers, maybe at the next yard sale." We were almost out of luck until one of our last stops. There he sit, in a big pile of other lonely animals. Tigger. She scooped him up and was happy. From that point on, she couldn't go anywhere without her Tigger. She sleeps with him, sits with him, talks to him. I can hardly peel her away from it! Well, we went to yard sales again today and guess what!! We found lots of tiggers!! So now, my little girl has about 6 stuffed tiggers and a few other 'tigger things' like a tigger scarf that actually has his head at each end. Wonder how long this will last?

Oh Brother!!
We've been trying to fix up the house!! How far do we get you might ask? NOT FAR AT ALL! Have you ever tried doing fix'er uppers when you have a 5 month old and a 2 1/2 year old? If you haven't well let me tell you that not too many things get accomplished! We started painting the outside of the house and so far what is done looks really good.
Brooke has been sick with a very bad cold this past week and is just starting to get over it somewhat. She was the last one to get it. The poor little thing wakes up all stuffy and can hardly breathe. I hate it when my kids are sick....
Well, tonight Kenny and I watched Big Brother All Stars and I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed!! I thought for sure that Janelle and Erika would be the final 2! But oooh noooo, Boogie had to get the Head of Household. Granted it was a smart move on his part to get rid of Janelle because she definately would have won the game! Ah well, I think Boogie is the one who is going to win the bucks now. I don't think that Erika has a chance! I've been known to be wrong in the past though!
Kenny is taking his turn in sleeping with Brooke tonight. YES, we sleep with her!! We said that we were not going to when she was still in the womb but ya know how that goes! Aliyah sleeps in her bed well that is until she wakes up in the middle of the night screaming for one of us to go sleep with her. Most times, we just go to sleep with her from the start so that we could get a half way decent sleep and not have to be woken up in the middle of the night. SOMEDAY - we will have them both sleeping in their beds, by themselves! Good thing that we have a king size bed!!
It's late, well not really but late for me! Time for sleep.

Exhibition. It was a fun day!
Sunday, we took the girls to the exhibition. Aliyah absolutely loved the rides! She got on the cars, train, horsey merry go round and the giant slide (with Kenny of course). She also got on the pony rides, twice! She went on the first time with someone standing along side of her and then the second time, she rode them around all by herself. My baby is growing up!! Brooke was fantastic! The only ride she got on was driving around in the stroller. Next year - Maybe :)
Aliyah also liked going in the barns and looking at all of the animals. She had a long day since we were there for 5 hours. I took lots of pictures. She got on the rides with Julia (her cousin). I'm thinking about taking her back again.:)

58. A childhood memory that I have was going to the post office for my Gram and finding this thing on the road that I took home with me. I was so excited to show Gram! I walked into the house and showed her this tube wrapped in white paper (thinking that it was worth money or something I guess). Grammy told me to throw it out in a grossed out voice. Come to find out, it was nothing but a tampon. Ah well!

26. I have a Shihtzu named Snoopy
27. When I was a kid, the cartoon that I watched the most would probably be The Bugs Bunny & Tweey Show

32. During my lifetime there were 2 professions that I wanted to pursue. 1) Physical Education Teacher or Photography. Here I am, a supervisor at a Contact Center....where did that come from?
33. I really don't like talking on the phone that much - spent many hours on it when I was a teenager and I guess got sick of it after that!

100 Things About Myself
Ok, So I've seen this done before and I thought to myself, this can't be too hard. So I'm going to try and accomplish this!! 100 things about myself. Then I will continue to do this about my children. It's something that I can also share with my girls when they get older.
So let's get this started:
1. I've been married for Ummm, 3 years? May 3, 2003 (forgot my anniversary this year, but I don't feel bad because Kenny didn't remember either! - That's what having kids will do to you)
2. I have 2 children, Aliyah 2 1/2 years old and Brooke 5 months old (treasures of my life)
3. We've lived in our house for 4 years now - alot has happened in that time frame!
4. I like cucumber sandwiches (where did that come from???) - I must be hungry
5. I'm quite emotional - people don't seem to think that I'm this type of person, but I DO have a soft heart!
6. I have a childhood memory of my brother telling me that I had to eat my toast before he would play a game with me. It wasn't until after I ate my toast that he told me that the cat had just sat on it!! (He still laughs about it until this day)
7. I love shopping on E-Bay!! (Kenny doesn't like it so much! hehe)
8. I loved being called "Mommy" although sometimes it can be draining when it's said 10 times in a row! (Does that mean that I'm not paying attention??)
9. I don't mind doing laundry - but I absolutely HATE putting it away!! - hence the piles of clothes in my bedroom!
10. Depending on who you are, I may tell you if you have a boogie in your nose, close friend - definately yes, a stranger? Umm probably not!
11. I wear size 8.5 shoe - never used to be!! My feet grew after I had children - not lying!
12. I absolutely LOVE pictures!! I'm a freak when it comes to them!
13. Love to scrapbook! - not great at it yet, but I'm getting there!
14. My favorite time of year is Spring.
15. My favorite number is 10 - it's been this ever since playing sports in school. First number that has 2 digits I guess.
16. I played every sport in school - won 3 athlete of the year awards.
17. I was in a car accident - rear ended in 1998 - I still have back and neck problems because of it.
18. This is going to sound strange - but I talk to myself in my head - we don't want to go there, just yet!
19. I love to sleep! I need at least 8 hours in order to feel somewhat rested
20. I'm into reality TV shows - Big Brother being my favorite, Survivor, American Idol, Canadian Idol, So you Think you Can Dance, Amazing Race
21. I absolutely love watching Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives.

17. I was in a car accident - rear ended in 1998 - I still have back and neck problems because of it.

He is gone to a good home......
Well, we finally did it. We placed an ad in the paper for a good home for our Shihtzu Tux, Slammer and Buddy (Our cats). We had probably 50 calls for Tux and a couple of calls for the cats. We gave Slammer to an older woman who lives out in the country, that was hard to do! Then we went out to Lincoln to see a woman who wanted Tux. Although it was very difficult to do, we let him stay with her. She seems like a very loving lady. She said that she can't have children of her own and looks at her animals as her children. I held it together (well almost) until we got in the car to leave. Then I totally lost it! I have to keep telling myself that it's the best thing and that he will have so much more attention than we could ever give him. We didn't have time to spend with the animals and the guilt was overwhelming. With 2 little children, it was just impossible for us. Aliyah asked where Tux was last night and Kenny told her that he was with a man, she was ok with that (for now). I'm sure that we will be getting more questions about him. You see, she loved him so much. She played with him the most and spent many hours laughing while she ran around with him. Guess I have to talk about this later, because I'm starting to get choked up again. I love you Tux (sigh).

And so it begins!
My 2 little daughters are absolutely amazing! I love them dearly and don't know what I ever did without them. My 2 1/2 year old tends to say things to amaze me everyday. She is in the "Why Mommy?" stage. Her curiosity gets the best of her. When Brooke was first born, Aliyah was very happy to have her new little sister. When Brooke came home, for the first little while, Aliyah was intrigued by her. It wasn't until Brooke was about a month and a half old that Aliyah would come up with her famous words with a stern look on her face "No BROOKE, DON'T LOOK AT ME!!". When Brooke turned 4 months old, Aliyah must have came to the conclusion that Brooke wasn't going anywhere so she had to learn to love her :) She now plays with her and takes good care of her. She shares her toys (well most of them), helps feed her and the cutest is giving her kisses! Brooke has this smile that she gives Aliyah everytime she sees her come near. I'm sure that will change in the future at one point or another but for now, it's the cutest thing ever! Brooke is 5 months old now and is starting to creep. She can already sit up and is playing with her toys with her little precious fingers. We started her on her cereal and will soon begin the strained foods. I'm looking forward to her "firsts" when it comes to food and capture all of her sour looks on her face. Brooke is a fantastic little baby. She sleeps from 8 p.m. usually until 7 or 8 a.m. each night. Trust me, I'm not complaining!! Aliyah on the other hand, usually stays up until around 10 p.m. and gets up at 8 a.m. She sleeps in her own bed but wants her Mommy or Daddy to sleep with her EVERY night. If we're not there, she will do 1 of 2 things. Scream at 3 a.m. wanting one of us to go in and lay down with her or 2, quietly saunter into our room and crawl in bed with us. (Shhh, Don't tell Kenny but I don't mind!!) I just love snuggling with my girls. I know that they are safe and not to mention, they are like my little heating pads :) I could go on forever but for now, I'm exhausted and need sleep! Until next time!
My First Ever BLOG!
Well, here I am. It's September 1st, 2006 and who would have thought that I would be starting my very own BLOG! My friend, Jolene has inspired me to do this. I thought that this would be a fantastic way of journaling about my daughters and hey, maybe I will be brave and jot a few things down about myself :) I have so much to write. So let the games begin!
