My pooor little baby girl, Aliyah! She was playing around last night and then all of a sudden she came downstairs, stood by the dishwasher and started vomiting! She didn't cry like I thought she would, she was confused and scared I think. We layed her down in our bed and off to sleep she went. Well, this morning she was hungry. She insisted on a peanut butter sandwich (yes, first thing in the morning). She wasn't even finished her sandwich and up it came! All over my foot and leg and down on the floor beside the bed. Anyone who knows me, knows that it was very hard to hold her on my lap while she was sick. I held back as much as I could and was successful in not being sick myself! I went down to the pharmacy first thing this morning and got her some children's gravol which seems to be helping because she hasn't been sick since. She's been sleeping alot today and just laying in our bed mostly. She shows a bit of life once in awhile but not too often and not for very long.
I've been feeling sick today myself. Very dizzy and head pounding all day long. Not good! Brooke has been in the best of spirits.... let's hope that she doesn't get it but I'm sure that she's bound to get it one way or another. (good grief!)
It's going to be an early night tonight.
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

My little baby is soo cute.
Ok, so Brooke was crying tonight in her crib.... so I venture upstairs for the second time in 10 minutes to see what she wanted. She was raring to get up and go once I get in the door...but that wasn't happenin! I layed her back down and placed my hand on her back. She was content while it was there but as soon as I lifted one finger off, she was up and crying again. (Spoiled, yes I know) So I decided, hey, I'll just lay down in her bed while she's in the crib and observe. So I pretended to sleep.
I watched her first bouncing up and down on her butt (that's her way of dancing) she must of heard Aliyah's show on downstairs. She grabs ontop of the crib rails and pulls herself up... after switching her 2 sookies a few times from one hand to another. She bounces up and down in her crib while hanging on....then... one sookie goes flying over the floor, so I think ok...that was a mistake. She reaches down in her crib, grabs her bottle, whips up and bang, there goes the bottle onto the floor along with the sookie. She reaches for her mouth to grab her sookie and flings that across the room too. After which, she starts laughing at herself. I held myself back from laughing along with her as it was just too cute. I managed to lay her back down and put her back to sleep. We'll see how long this 'nap' lasts!
Aliyah was telling me a story this morning (as she usually does first thing in the morning after she says "Wakey wakey sleepy head, it's mornin!) After her story she looks at me with stern eye brows and says "Ok Mommy, do you understand?" of course, i had to chuckle. The things that this one comes out with are beyond me.
Brooke is now saying mama and dada... when you ask her where sister or Aliyah is, she looks around and tries to find her. She's standing up on her own and walking along with her disney car that she got for Christmas. I can barely keep up with her that's for sure! My instincts are telling me that she isn't going to be anything like Aliyah (calm and quiet for the most part).. I think she's going to be wild and crazy (in a good sense of course)
Ok, Aliyah is hungry for the 15th time in the past 1/2 hour. I don't know if she has a growing spurt, bored or just an endless stomach. Oh and one more thing, she has taken on her uncle Anthony's sense of smell. Yes, that's right, anything that she comes in contact with, she has to smell it first. Doesn't matter what it is and she then wants me to smell it too!!
She was looking at our wedding pictures today and she asked if that was me (in the wedding gown) and I said yes.... she said "Is this one you too?" i said "Yes".... then she looks at another picture and says "Is that you and Uncle Ansony (Anthony) kissing?" Oh dear.
Night!

It's Been Awhile.....
Wow, I can't believe how much time has passed since my last post!! I guess I can chalk it up to being very busy with the holidays and cleaning up after the holidays.
It was a very good Christmas. Aliyah and Brooke absolutely loved it! Santa came to visit our house ya know. He was out back and I got Aliyah to come in the family room to see if she could see Santa... she got as far as the couch and heard Santa say HO HO HO and then started screaming uncontrolably at the top of her lungs. "I WANT MY DADDY" she said. I have it all on video so I'm sure that she will get a kick out of watching it when she gets older. I don't think that it would be too funny still at the point. Santa left her a present at the front doorstep on Christmas Eve. It was a Gingerbread house (Winnie the Pooh of course) that was put all together that night. She loved doing it! I think that Santa perhaps started a tradition in our house for the girls :)
Christmas Eve I was laying down with Aliyah and she heard a noise... She grabbed ahold of me very quickly "WHAT'S THAT NOISE MOMMY" and I said "I dunno Aliyah" Her reply was "It was RUDOLF MOMMY! - HE'S ON THE ROOF!" Then she wanted to go in my room and go to sleep so that Santa wouldn't see her. She was sooo excited that night that she didn't end up going to sleep until 11 p.m. By the time Christmas morning came, we had to wake her up and she rolled around and said "But I just want to sleep!!" After we said that Santa left her presents, she was ready to get up and start tearing paper!
Aliyah helped Brooke open up her presents although Brooke was doing a good job all on her own. Aliyah also asked to help Mommy and Daddy open their presents as well. She was tired by the time Christmas dinner was ready to eat. She even asked me to go to bed (of course she didn't)
Time for bed right now.... be back tomorrow and finish my holiday stories..... Night!
